Education for Work
The goal of this department at Padua College is to offer as many real world learning experiences as possible.
Students in this digital age will have to be more flexible and adaptive to their work environments than workers in any other era. Technology is developing so rapidly that many jobs of the future are not even created yet.
With 50 million of the population on earth involved in vocational training (TVET 2013), vocational training plays a huge part in all of our futures. Padua students have access to certificate courses in Fitness, Construction and Engineering and Business on site. They also have access to trade and other TAFE training through SkillsTech and TAFE campuses across Brisbane.
Students completing the Industry Pathway are also immersed in the world of work, through the Padua work experience program. Some students are currently employed in the school based apprenticeship program, where they are paid and moving forward to an earlier completion of their apprenticeship after leaving school in Year 12. Padua is in partnership with several outside training organisations and we are constantly looking at expanding relevant offerings to our students.
We want to help every student find their niche and fully support them in this search.
