Cricket

cricketThe Cricket program at Padua is played across all year levels in the school. The boys in Years 5-12  play in the AIC competition. Padua, in 2013, had 33 sides which took part in these competitions.

The majority of matches are played on Saturdays throughout Term 1. Home games are played on our picturesque ovals at Banyo, our school ovals and other fields surrounding the College. Coaches are drawn primarily from the teaching staff and Old Boys with the necessary expertise. Further experience and accredited coaches are sourced from outside the Padua community.

The annual Cricket clinic is held in January, just before the school year commences. The open squad also undertakes tours interstate (and occasionally internationally).

The Cricket uniform consists of the white Padua sports polo and long white trousers. If sides are playing on turf, it is expected that the boys wear spikes.

Cricket is supported by an active parent group who assist with the canteen on home games, scoring and umpiring.

During the season, further information including training times, team lists, coaching staff, schedules and results is available on the Padua website, SharePoint and the sports' notice boards.
