FCIP Instrumental Tuition
Tuition on all String family instruments is readily available. Commencing at St Anthony's, violin, viola and 'cello is taught from Year 2 (7 years old), and double bass from Year 4 (9 years old). Boys enrolling at Padua from Year 5 onwards are offered tuition which continues at Padua through to Year 12.
Tuition on Brass, Woodwind and Percussion instruments commences in Year 5 at both Padua and St Anthony's and flows through to Year 12 at Padua and Mt Alvernia, our sister Franciscan College.
Instrumental lessons are programmed using a rotating timetable so that students do not repeatedly miss the same class subject lessons. Tuition is available on the following:
Strings - Violin, Viola, 'Cello and Double Bass (a number of double bass students also elect to learn electric Bass Guitar)
Woodwind - Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone (Alto, Tenor, Baritone)
Brass - Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba
Percussion - Drum kit/Percussion (includes Tuned Percussion: Xylophone, Marimba, Glockenspiel, Timpani, etc, and Un-tuned Percussion: Latin, Band and Orchestra)

Tuned Percussion: Xylophone, Marimba, Glockenspiel etc. and Un-tuned Percussion: Latin, Band and Orchestra.
In Years 5 and 6, Percussion is taught through FCIP
In Years 7 to 12, Drum kit/Percussion is offered through the Padua Private Music Department.
